What Makes a Good Moving Box?
A moving box gets packed heavy, stacked high, carried by hand and squeezed into a van. It needs thick board, a sensible size that one person can lift, and somewhere to write what is inside. Double wall BC flute handles all of that, which is why it is our standard grade for removal boxes.

Heavy Items in Small Boxes
It is the oldest rule in packing a house: heavy things go in small boxes, light things in big ones. Fill a big carton with paperbacks and nobody can carry it, and the base is liable to give way. Order more small boxes than you think you need.

Hand Holes and Printing
Hand holes in the end panels make a big difference when carrying boxes up stairs. A printed contents panel, with lines for the room and contents, saves time on unloading. Removal and storage companies often add their logo and phone number so every box is a small advert.
Archive and Storage Boxes
For offices and storage units, a box with a separate lid is easier to open and close repeatedly than a taped carton. Archive boxes are sized to take files upright and stack evenly on shelves.
How to Pack a Moving Box Properly

- Seal the bottom with three strips of tape: down the middle join, then over both short edges.
- Put a layer of paper in the bottom.
- Pack heavy items first, lighter ones on top.
- Fill gaps so nothing moves when you tilt the box.
- Close and tape the top, then label the room and contents.
What Do Moving Boxes Cost?
Moving boxes are double wall, so they cost more than single wall cartons of the same size. Ordering a mix of standard sizes in one go keeps the price per box down. The quote shows each size separately.
Sizing Your Moving Boxes
Moving boxes are quoted on the inside size. The standard removal sizes in the table stack well together in a van; mixing them with odd sizes makes loading harder.
Storage businesses often choose one or two sizes that fit their shelving exactly. Send your shelf depth and height and we will suggest a size.
Board for Moving Boxes
Moving boxes are made in double wall BC flute as standard. Single wall is offered only for light archive boxes kept on shelves.
