Styles in This Range
Every insert is sized to your box and your product.
When Does a Box Need an Insert?
Any time products can move against each other or against the box walls. Bottles, jars, glassware, cosmetics sets and electronics are the usual candidates. A single product that fills its box snugly usually does not need one; three products in a gift box almost always do.
Inserts Compared
Each type can be plain or printed, and each is cut to your measurements.
| Type | Material | Best use |
|---|---|---|
| Divider grid | Single wall corrugated | Rows of bottles or jars |
| Die cut insert | E flute or paperboard | Gift sets with shaped products |
| Tray | Paperboard or E flute | Lifting one product into view |
| Cradle | Corrugated | Odd shapes, devices, parts |
Are Inserts Better Than Loose Fill?
For repeat products, usually yes. An insert is quicker to pack than wrapping and stuffing, uses no loose material and presents the product neatly. Loose fill is still useful for one-off parcels and irregular mixes.
- Faster packing for repeat orders
- Products arrive in the same position
- No loose material for the customer to clear up
- A tidier opening experience
Designing an Insert With Its Box
The best inserts are designed alongside the box, so the two fit together exactly. If you are ordering new boxes, add the insert to the same quote. If you already have boxes, send their inside size. Either way, see our box inserts made to fit for the details we need.
How Do You Order Inserts?
- Measure the inside of the box.
- Measure one of each product.
- Count the products per box.
- Send the sizes, or a photo with a tape measure beside the items.
- Approve the proof and the inserts are made with your boxes.
What Do Inserts Cost?
Simple inserts start from £0.20 an insert in good quantities. The number of cells or cut-outs, the board and the quantity set the final price, which appears on your quote alongside the boxes.

Single wall corrugated board, which is stiff and cushions knocks.

Measure to the millimetre. A good insert fits the box snugly with no rattle.
Styles and Features
What is the difference between a divider and an insert?

Yes. Send the inside size and we make the insert to fit it.

Bottles, jars and glassware, which can knock and break if they touch.
Do inserts add much to packing time?
No. Most inserts drop into the box in seconds and speed packing up.
Can inserts be ordered without boxes?
